Today I decided to share some of my own Paintings Made on Location in Italy.

Maybe it will inspire you to join me on a painting workshop! I teach absolute beginners to professional artists in my workshops and know You would love the experience and be amazed at what you will achieve.

This coming May brings my two back to back 2026 Italy based painting workshops, Paint San Gimignano and Paint Florentine Gardens.
There are so many very beautiful, special, and unique painting locations and painting opportunities during these two workshops.

I have been busy making arrangements for my groups to be allowed to paint in many of the more public locations that require advance reservations and for the very private locations not available to the public.

Over the years I have distilled the very best painting spots through repeated painting sessions of my own. I look for:

indicative and beautiful spots,

places that allow safe and unobtrusive painting experiences,

places that provide multiple view points for a number of artists,

and

places that are relatively easy to access, and have a water source and bathroom availability.

As you can imagine it is not always easy to locate all these requirements and still paint what appeals!
So, pre-planning is what makes my workshop painting on location experiences as good as they can be!
